We met while leading small groups at our local church—standing side by side every week, yet somehow never speaking or even knowing each other’s names. Fun fact: Deven was mentoring Brenna’s brother and didn’t connect the dots until much later. It wasn’t until Brenna missed a Wednesday night (she was at a state basketball tournament—one of Deven’s favorite sport) that people started asking about her. That’s when Deven noticed her… even though she wasn’t there. The next week, a group dinner led to our first real conversation. A week later, we went out for ice cream with friends and exchanged socials. No messages were sent—until Brenna made the first move. That sparked a casual outing to pick out a Mother’s Day gift for Deven’s grandmother. He didn’t think of it as a date. Brenna did—but kept that to herself. From there, we kept hanging out. Again. And again. And again. By the third “again,” we shared our first (and last first) kiss. We’ve been inseparable ever since. We started dating in May 2021, got engaged in December 2024, and we’re so excited to be getting married in June 2026. Through nearly four years of long distance—from 100 miles apart to 5,000 miles when Brenna studied abroad in Italy—we’ve grown stronger, closer, and more grateful for every moment together. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you. 💍✨
