Helpful Travel Tips

Traveling from the US to Mexico can be exciting and relatively easy, but it’s important to be well-prepared. Here are some helpful tips to ensure a smooth trip: Check Passport Requirements -Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. - Travel Insurance: Consider purchasing travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, cancellations, and theft. Currency and Money Matters - Mexican Peso: The official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN), but US dollars are accepted in many places, especially in touristy areas. - ATM Fees: Avoid excessive ATM fees by withdrawing money from ATMs associated with your bank. - Currency Exchange: It’s usually better to exchange money in Mexico or at your bank, as exchange rates at airports or hotels are often less favorable. - Apps: Consider downloading translation apps like Google Translate to assist with communication. Transportation Tips - Airport Transfers: You can arrange shuttle pick up & drop off through our booking website. Otherwise, use authorized taxis or airport shuttle services. Many airports have a dedicated taxi stand with fixed rates. - Public Transport: Buses and metros are affordable options for getting around major cities, but in some areas, taxis or rideshare apps like Uber are safer and more convenient. - Driving in Mexico: If you plan to rent a car, ensure you understand local traffic rules and driving conditions. Renting a car is a good way to explore smaller towns and more remote areas. Other Information - Weather: Mexico’s climate varies by region, so pack accordingly. The coastal areas are hot and humid, while the interior and higher elevations can be cooler. - Essentials: Don't forget sunscreen, a hat, comfortable shoes for walking, and any medications you may need.
