There it was, June 23rd! The day after Brendon had arrived back in Norman from a crazy internship and a birthday party he had on the road home at BWW’s with Austin - ready to celebrate with all his friends! His closest friends decided to throw him a 21st birthday party on the 23rd, that I was (thankfully) invited to by a mutual friend of ours! I remember showing up, music loud, so many new faces and I asked who the birthday guy was, after seeing him standing there I knew I had to walk straight up to him and introduce myself - so I did just that! I walked into the kitchen, introduced myself and offered to buy him a drink next door at the Library :) He agreed, we both had an Orange Tic Tac shot - my latest 21 year old selfs’ favorite thing. After that, we rejoined the party back at the house - and had a night we would remember and look back on for years to come! About 3 weeks later, I was at BrewHouse watching the Mexico vs Germany World Cup game with some friends. I looked up and there he was walking in, Brendon, I wasn’t sure when I would see him again and was so excited to see him right then. That afternoon, I got my shift covered for work and stayed to hang out with him and our friends. I remember realizing at that moment, how much I just wanted to talk to him non-stop. I felt comfortable and happy, and I really wanted to see him again! Lucky for me, a few days later, Brendon found me on Facebook and messaged me. We started talking for hours and hours that day. That day we exchanged numbers and never stopped talking for hours and hours ever again :)

On June 23rd I had just gotten back from Michigan the day before and Moses offered to have some friends over for my 21st Birthday. Heather walked in and the first thing she did was offer me a drink next door! I thought no way I’m turning down a drink from someone as cute as her, so of course, that’s what we did! We rejoined everyone after a couple of drinks but I knew right away I could have spent all night talking to her. A couple of weeks later we ran into each other at Brewhouse and I made every excuse I could think of to talk to her. I think I walked to the bathroom 12 times just so I could walk by her. Later that day I slid into the DMs and we ended up messaging for quite a while. After cleverly giving her my number, we ended up talking non-stop. I realized early just how incredible of a woman she is and continue to be amazed by her every day since!
