How We Met

It's truly amazing the blessings God has for you when you trust him. Let us set the scene: A small summer camp in Lapeer, MI in the middle of summer of 2016. Abby was working as a lifeguard for the summer and Brendon got a call to volunteer as a counselor for the week. The two never had met before and were strangers. Little did they know they had been going to the same camp for years before this moment. Brendon sat across from Abby at the staff meeting on the first night of camp. But he didn't know that Abby saw every subtle glance he threw in her direction. That night Brendon had a dream about Abby. When he woke up he was filled with joy. He knew he had to go after this girl. Throughout the week he tried to talk to her as much as he could. At the end of the week he stole a kiss. We started dating the day before Abby moved in to college and began four years of driving hours to see each other every weekend. We don't regret a thing. Brendon is so thankful God gave him the dream that one summer night. We can't wait to live our lives serving him together!

The Proposal

We went to Indian Mound Reserve in Cedarville, OH for a picnic and hiking. Brendon brought the ring, just in case he decided to propose. It was a beautiful area with ledges, streams and waterfalls. We walked to a cliff with a climbing path and Brendon suggested that Abby should climb it for a picture. While she was climbing he pulled out the ring and took a photo holding the ring behind her. (you can see it in the photos page) Once he took a picture she climbed down and he had her look through the photos. She scrolled until she saw the photo with the ring and when she turned around he was on one knee holding the ring.
