Amanda and Brendon’s story began on July 3, 2023, at a coffee shop in Old Town Bluffton. Brendon had told Amanda he didn’t drink coffee, so she was surprised when he ordered the same thing she did. (He hasn’t had another coffee since, clearly it was just for her.) They spent the day walking around in the July heat, talking and getting to know each other, eventually ending at a nearby restaurant to continue the conversation over dinner. Brendon was quiet that first date, so Amanda was touched when he later texted that he had a great time and wanted to see her again. From there, they took things slow. Going on more dates, meeting each other’s friends and (eventually) family, and discovering just how many connections they shared. Somehow, they had been orbiting the same world for years, missing each other by only a hair. They even both declined being set up on a blind date with each other the year before. Together, they have built a life full of love, laughter, and the little everyday moments that matter most. Amanda knew Brendon was the one during a drive back from visiting friends in Charlotte. With their two dogs in the car, Brendon looked around and said, “I love our little family.” In that moment, everything clicked—this was home, this was love, and this was just the beginning of their life together.
