How we met

Swiped Mr. Right

Our story began when we both decided to join a dating app called Tinder. Brenden had just recently moved to Kansas City and I was a full -time student in Radiology school. I had no time for a social life outside of school and Brenden didn't know anyone in the area. We both ended up on the dating app and "Swiped right" on each other. Brenden messaged me first on Tinder with the best (cheesiest) pick-up line. It went something like; "Hey there, are you from Australia? Because you meet all of my Koalafications!" His pickup line was super cheesy but it made me laugh and peaked my interest. From then, we talked for several weeks before meeting in person at Bar Louie in Kansas City. If you ask Brenden, he will still tell you that we met in a bar. Luckily, we hit it off and before we knew it, we were going on more dates. By our 3rd date we decided to make it "official" on October 11, 2014 and the rest is history.

The proposal

05/14/2018

We were in the Outer Banks of NC with a couple of friends to start off a week vacation. We had spent the first day exploring all over the Outer Banks but I wanted to try and find conch shells on a remote beach. We decided to get up before sunrise to drive a few miles down to Pea Island National seashore that's a more secluded area. We thought it would be a great place to look for big shells during low tide and capture some sunrise pictures- or so i thought. We arrived at the beach a little before 5am and began our shell hunt. We began taking some photos on the beach and our friends suggested we take a couple of pictures on higher ground to catch the sunrise in the background. We were posing for pictures when Brenden pulled the ring box out and proposed. I had actually seen the ring box in his hand right before he proposed and I was so excited when he proposed, that instead of saying yes I said " My ringggggg!!" (This was a ring we had looked at many months ago but the ring was retired so I never imagined that he would actually get it) After squealing in excitement about getting the ring of my dreams, he asked me if that was a yes and I responded with "oh yeah, of course!" #LeisIgotmyring We thought it would be a neat idea to come full circle and get married in the Outer Banks. It is one of the most beautiful places I've seen and we cannot wait to share a slice of heaven with all of you.
