How We Met

by Sierah

Our love story began in 2012 when we met through mutual friends. You have heard of “love at first sight?” Well this wasn’t it. We were so young and in a different place. The timing was all wrong. We just weren’t looking for the same things in life back then. We parted ways. Time passed and we both lived our lives working and doing what people in their 20’s do. We had fun! Mainly we knew there was something missing, but didn’t know what. We both wanted a person to share a life together. Neither of us had ever found anyone that was just right. Then one day in December of 2017, I was feeling sad with the holidays approaching. While driving through Vancouver, my past friend Brenden popped in my head. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder how he is doing? On a whim, I texted him. (No, I wasn’t driving. Grandma was driving!) He texted back immediately. Brenden was so surprised to hear from me but was very happy. I could tell. We continued to text, call and talk for hours for the next month. Our friendship grew and grew. We seemed to have so much in common. We had made some mistakes in our lives but we were both on the right track now. We had our first “real” date at Red Robin. We were both so nervous and excited all at the same time. We were talking and talking, laughing and laughing throughout the meal. We must have looked rather puzzling to others around us. After a half an hour, we both stared at our plates. Neither one of us had taken a bite! We were too wrapped up in rekindling our friendship. At the end of our Red Robin dinner we both knew. We were ready to put our past away and move forward. Together.

The Proposal

by Sierah

On September 15, 2018 something wonderful happened. Brenden surprised me with a marriage proposal. My Grandmother and Brenden’s parents were there to witness the unforgettable event. We were eating Mexican food and all of the sudden Brenden went to the middle of the restaurant and got everyone’s attention. He asked me to join him. I was so nervous to walk to the middle of the room. He got down on one knee. He told me so many wonderful things, he loved me, couldn’t live without me, and more. (It was kind of a blur I was so emotional) Then he asked me that all important question, “Will you marry me?” Of course I said “Yes!” Everyone in the restaurant clapped and phones were pointed at us from everywhere snapping pictures.

Bundle of Joy

by Sierah

The biggest life-changing event was the birth of Aidyn. Our baby boy was born February 13, 2019. We are so in love with him. He has changed our lives forever. This was the absolute happiest day of my life, Brenden's too. Aidyn was 3 weeks early and weighed 5 lbs. 14 oz. He is perfect. Brenden and I want to thank you all for your love and support through the years. We are so blessed to have you all in our lives. We are over the moon when we think about our wedding. Hope you can join us and be a part of our amazing love story.
