Please RSVP by September 5th on the dedicated tab on this site. The sooner you RSVP, the better.
Semi-formal. What does that mean? Be comfortable + express yourself, but leave your jeans + t-shirts at home. Keep in mind that this is an outdoor event, so avoid stilettos. You may want to bring an extra layer - you never know what the Virginia weather will be like in October.
We would prefer our guests to refrain from wearing white + dark brown to allow the couple to stand out, but anything else is on the table! Our party is wearing lighter shades of brown/neutrals and burnt orange, and we love fall colors like maroon, mustard, sage, etc. Express yourself!
Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors on the Yearwood's family farm in Ellett Valley. The festivities will continue outdoors even if the weather does not cooperate, but there will be a large tent for coverage.
We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. While we typically live by "the more the merrier," a strict guest list was created for this event, which we must abide by.
While we love your little ones, we are only able to include children of the family.
We have a special rate available at the Inn at Virginia Tech, which you can find under the Travel tab. We also recommend the Hilton Garden Inn (900 Plantation Rd), Hyatt Place (650 University City Blvd), and Courtyard Marriott (105 Southpark Dr).
There will be limited complimentary transportation, and guests that are flying in for the event will have first priority. Brenden + Emory are surveying guests and creating a list to accommodate as many people as possible. If you do not hear from us by September 8th, you are responsible for your own transportation. Please make plans in advance to be dropped off + picked up at The Farm. There are a limited number of Ubers in the area, so make plans in advance to ensure safe + efficient travel.
We can't emphasize enough how important it is for our guests to get to + from the event safely. The roads are dark and curvy at night, and there are tons of deer in the area. Buzzed driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving, and we will not tolerate either. Please designate a sober driver or make plans in advance.
There will be a dedicated parking area that you will be directed to by our ushers upon arrival to The Farm. If needed, you are welcome to leave your car overnight.
Help us get the party started as scheduled! Guests can begin arriving one hour prior to the ceremony, and we ask that you arrive no later than 3:15pm to ensure all guests are seated by 3:30pm.
The reception will take place in the same area as the ceremony, and there will be light bites, drinks, and activities to enjoy as the wedding party takes photos. Later in the evening, we will provide a full sit-down dinner, followed by dessert + dancing.
Yes! At the wedding reception, there will be an open bar. With that said, we will not tolerate drinking + driving, so please make plans in advance to get safely to + from the event. No: at the Welcome Party on Friday night, it will be a cash bar only.
The Rehearsal Dinner is by invitation only, however, we are hosting a Welcome Party on Friday night from 8:00pm-10:30pm at Lane Stadium. We will also be wishing our guests farewell over coffee + pastries at Inn @ Virginia Tech on Sunday morning.
