How We Met

First comes school, Then comes marriage.

It all started at sophomore-year homecoming. My friend's date ended up being from another school, and he was looking for someone to go with. He asked Brenden to be his wingman, showed him a picture of all the single girls in our group, and told him to pick someone to go with; luckily, he chose me. When I found out, I slid into his DMs and asked “Hey! Random question, but could you please send me a pic of your face?” I needed to make sure he was good lookin. When I saw him, I quickly approved, and accepted the offer to attend with him. We ended up having a great time at the dance, laughing and dancing, but after that night, we went our separate ways. Months passed, but we ended up reconnecting after the thoughts of our great time kept reappearing in our minds. During COVID, I got a sudden craving for Waffle House (Like one does) and remembered Brenden. I thought, Why not ask him? The worst he can say is no. So, I messaged him again, and it was like nothing had changed. He asked his parents if he could "hang out with the boys" at Waffle House, and I was there telling my teammates, “I’m going out with my hot date from a year ago!” What I thought was just a casual hangout turned into something way more. We started seeing each other nearly every day after our date, and the more time we spent together, the stronger our bond became. What started as a random choice at a high school dance and a spontaneous Waffle House run, turned into forever for us. Brenden and I are best friends and soulmates, and we have never been luckier we found our way back<3
