Mesa Verde is about 45 minutes from downtown Durango and is a great way to see some amazing ancient cliff dwellings. You guide yourself through a 6 mile drivable loop that goes through 700 years of Ancestral Pueblo history.
One of Durango, CO's claims to fame. This train ride is a scenic, relaxing ride from Durango to Silverton through the San Juan Mountains. You will stop in Silverton and get to walk around, shop, and eat before you get to hop back on to Durango. It is a full-day event, so plan to be busy!
