Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Victoria Argese and Brendan Mercier
We’ve put together some of our favorite must-see spots in Maine. If you’re thinking about turning this trip into a vacation, here are a few ideas to get you started!
Portland Head Light

Portland Head Light

Cape Elizabeth, ME 04107
, (207) 799-2661

Maine is known for it's lighthouses. Portland Head Light is our favorite. There are beautiful walking trails, and you might even catch some food trucks nearby.

Peaks Island

Peaks Island

Maine State Pier, Portland, ME 04101

Just a 20-minute ferry ride from the Portland waterfront, Peaks Island makes for the perfect afternoon excursion. The ferry (address above) runs about every hour, and once you're there, you'll find restaurants, beaches, kayaking, and plenty of bike or golf cart rentals for easy sightseeing.

Freeport Village Station

Freeport Village Station

1 Freeport Village Station, Freeport, ME 04032

Just 20 minutes north of Portland. Outlet shopping and restaurants in the walkable village center. Be sure to stop at L.L.Bean flagship store! This is their favorite place to spend a Saturday!

Pine Point Beach

Pine Point Beach

26 River Sands Dr, Scarborough, ME 04074

Our favorite beach. Close to Portland.

Kennebunkport

Kennebunkport

Kennbunkport, ME 04046

Spend a day in Kennebunkport, just 35 minutes from Portland. A coastal town—beautiful beaches, great food, and local shops. Dock Square is the hub of activity in downtown Kennebunkport.

Acadia National Parks

Acadia National Parks

(207) 288-3338

Located about 2.5–3 hours north of Portland, it’s home to Acadia National Park, where you’ll find scenic woodlands, rocky beaches, and granite peaks like Cadillac Mountain. If hiking isn’t your thing, you can drive to many parts of Acadia National Park. After exploring the park, stay in the heart of Bar Harbor—a charming coastal town filled with breathtaking scenery, great food, and plenty of shops to enjoy.
