This is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. It's small and they don't take reservations, but it's worth the wait! The Oyster 'Po Boy and Tuna Poke are a must!
Husk
Husk is one of the most well known restaurants in Charleston. If you're lucky enough to get a reservation this has some of the best elevated Southern cuisine you'll find! They do take walk ins each night, starting at 5pm, but you'll start to see people line up around 4:30pm to get a table. If you're not into waiting there's a separate bar called the Bar at Husk, which is right next to the restaurant. There you'll find a limited menu and great craft cocktails!
Pawpaw
This is a great spot for lunch or dinner! Their fried chicken is the best!
Tour of Fort Sumter
Fort Sumter is where the first battle of the Civil War took place, so if you're a history buff, this is the place for you. This is an island, so you will have to take a ferry to access the tour.
The Ordinary
The Ordinary is a Southern seafood hall and oyster bar located in an old bank on Upper King Street.
Sullivan's Island
Sullivan's Island is only about 15-20 minutes from downtown Charleston and definitely worth a trip. Here you'll find great public beaches and some delicious restaurants. If you're looking to grab lunch check out Poe's Tavern or The Obstinate Daughter.
The Living Room at The Dewberry
We love The Dewberry and we love their cocktail bar just as much! This is a relaxed lounge with amazing craft cocktails. It's definitely worth stopping by for a drink and hearing the jazz trio that's usually performing.
Croghan's Jewel Box
Croghan's Jewel Box has been around for more than 100 years. They have everything from costume to estate jewelry. They're well known for their jewelry involving the Goldbug, which was made famous in the Charleston area when Edgar Allen Poe wrote of the Goldbug while living on Sullivan's Island.
The Darling Oyster Bar
Great spot to get some local SC oysters!
