Brendan and I met in August 2018 at Tarleton State University! We remained friends throughout the year and started talking in the Summer of 2019. We officially became boyfriend and girlfriend in October 2019 and maintained a long-distance relationship while I was at Tarleton State, and he was at Texas A&M. Brendan proposed in January 2025 after finishing graduate school! Tarleton State University We met our freshman year at Tarleton State University during transition week—the week before starting class. Brendan approached me and asked where I was from. I said San Antonio, and of course, he responded by saying San Antonio as well. We remained distant friends throughout the year until April 2019. I direct messaged him on Instagram in April because of a tip I received from a mutual friend of ours; she simply stated Brendan liked me. Brendan responded to my direct message, asked for my number, and took me on a date the next week. We continued to talk and grow closer that summer while we were back home in San Antonio. Transferring to Texas A&M and the Beginning of our Relationship Brendan transferred to Texas A&M in the Fall of 2019, and I remained at Tarleton State to pursue my degree in nursing. We spoke on FaceTime every night and would have virtual date nights on the weekends when we were free. Finally, in October 2019, Brendan asked me to be his girlfriend. I immediately responded yes, and our relationship began! Formals, Family, and Growth Though long distance and, school was challenging, we made the most of the time we spent with each other. Brendan would take me to formal, Aggie football games, and other events. However, it was during the Winter and Summer breaks that we grew! Fiesta became a yearly commitment with friends, and Spurs games every Winter were essential to attend. We always made it a point to make every date matter by doing something different. Work and Grad School I graduated from Tarleton in December 2022 and pursued my dream job of being a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. Brendan went on to pursue a master’s degree in a subject he was equally passionate about. We continued to grow personally and professionally and did many of the fun activities we engaged in when Brendan was on break. Brendan finished grad school in the Summer of 2024 and returned to San Antonio since his job was virtual. Brendan and I were finally able to spend the most time we ever had together during the Fall of 2024. We traveled and spent time with friends, and my family and I brought him to Mexico for the first time! Brendan received a job offer in December of 2024, and it was finally time for him to move away. Brendan's Comment: Of course, there was something I needed to do first. The Proposal January 26, 2025, seemed like another ordinary date day. We started off at Texas Roadhouse for lunch and watched the NFL playoff games going on while we were there. After the games, we went to Burgerteca – where we went on our first-ever date in San Antonio – for one of their spicy margaritas. After Burgerteca Brendan drove us to his dad’s house so we could stop and say hi to him since it was right down the street. Brendan told me his dad was in another place in the building and said we needed to meet him there. I proceeded to follow him and when he opened the door to the alleged area his dad was in. We walked in and there was the set up – roses, candles, and all. Brendan had organized the perfect proposal. He proposed and we went to his Madrina’s house shortly thereafter. When we arrived, both of our families were present and ready to celebrate with us – I had no idea he had planned this part either because he told me we were going to a steak dinner. It was the start of forever. The Wedding If you read this far, thank you. Brendan and I are so blessed to be where we are now, and we are incredibly excited you all will be a part of our special day. See you January 9th, 2026!
