FAQs

Here you'll find answers to some of the most common questions about our wedding day, travel, accommodations, and more to help you plan for our celebration!
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the wedding ceremony and reception, please dress in formal attire. This means elegant floor-length gowns, chic midi dresses, a classic suit and tie, or a tuxedo if you wish. Since our ceremony will be outdoors in a garden, we recommend choosing footwear that’s comfortable and suitable for walking on grass and uneven surfaces. The overall vibe is timeless black-and-white elegance, so dress to impress! For the welcome party, cocktail attire is perfect. Think elevated but comfortable—dresses, jumpsuits, dressy separates, or slacks with a button-up. It’s a relaxed yet stylish way to kick off the weekend and celebrate together.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be outdoors, so please plan accordingly.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Santa Barbara in October typically has mild weather, but evenings can be cool, so consider bringing a light jacket or wrap.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

There are three main options: Santa Barbara Airport, Burbank Airport, and LAX. You can find more information on each of these on the travel page of our website.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’ve curated a list of hotel options on the travel page of our website, including those conveniently located near the wedding venues and the beach. Santa Barbara also offers a wide range of accommodations to suit different budgets, from charming hotels to Airbnb rentals, so you can find the perfect place to stay.

Question

Will there be parking available?

Answer

For the ceremony, a public parking lot is located across the street next to the public library on Anacapa Street (75 minutes free, $3 per hour thereafter). For the reception, guests are welcome to use the Chase Bank lot next door, as our event falls on a Sunday. There is also ample street parking available at both locations. Or, we encourage using rideshare services like Uber or Lyft for added convenience.

Question

What should we do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

With a four-hour gap between the ceremony and reception, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Santa Barbara! Stroll down State Street, enjoy the Courthouse gardens, or The Funk Zone is perfect for wine tasting and casual bites. Optional, complimentary trolley tours to the Old Mission Santa Barbara will be available for guests—one leaving directly after the ceremony and another at 2:15. Look for the black trolley! More attractions and recommendations are on the ‘Things to Do’ page of our website.
