We're Getting Married

Brendan first thought those words well before his first date with Madi. In fact, that phrase first crossed his mind after a seven mile hike in the Boise foothills where he and Madi discussed all the reasons why they shouldn't (and wouldn't) date. The Cart was put ahead of the Horse by about a hundred miles, resulting in some tough conversations about moving, Brendan's job in the Army, and his short stint in the Boise area. Despite the exchanging of letters and the great, honest conversation, the two agreed to remain friends and nothing more. Yet, over the next several weeks, God began to work on their hearts, and things began to change. At 6:30 AM on a Saturday, they had their first date. This event naturally involved a celebratory cake and a competitive scavenger hunt at Boise State. In classic Cart Before The Horse fashion, they discussed what dating might look like and where God could take them in the months or years to come. After much contemplation, and to Brendan's surprise, Madi was intrigued enough to agree to a second date just two days later. Team Cart Before the Horse was born and so began the exchanging of letters, secret origami notes, rooftop dates, and a playlist for every memory they make. Truly, our story began well before we met one another. The Lord has been preparing us for a relationship that glorifies and draws us nearer to Him, and we believe we have found that in one another. We are overjoyed to invite all of you into yet another chapter of Our Greatest Love Story of All Time, and to welcome you to Team Cart Before the Horse! We look forward to celebrating with you!
