Macey and Brendan’s story began in 2021 at Tarleton State University—but not in a classroom or typical campus setting. They first met at the iconic Larry Joe Taylor Fest. Macey was a freshman just finding her way, and Brendan was a junior who already knew the Tarleton scene—and the festival—well. Their paths crossed, and something just clicked. What started as a fun weekend quickly grew into a meaningful friendship neither expected to turn into love. Over the next year, they stayed close, making memories with friends, attending campus events, and sharing countless laughs. In 2022, Brendan finally asked Macey to be his girlfriend, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. Shortly after, Brendan graduated and moved to Waxahachie for work. Though the distance was tough, weekend visits, FaceTime calls, and plenty of love helped them grow even closer. Today, Macey and Brendan are building a life full of joy, adventure, and partnership—along with their two sweet pups, Polly and Nellie. From college beginnings to long-distance challenges, they’ve grown stronger every step of the way. Now, they’re ready to begin their biggest adventure yet: marriage—and they can’t wait to celebrate it with all their family and friends!
Brendan and Macey had been together for 2.5 incredible years when they planned a trip to New York City with their families. Little did Macey know, this trip would become one of the most unforgettable moments of their lives. The night before they left, they went out to Tequila Social, their favorite spot. While at dinner, Macey asked Brendan if he was going to propose on the trip. When he said no, she couldn't hold back the tears. After Macey went to the bathroom to take a deep breath, Brendan called Macey’s mom telling her how she was about to make him crack because she wouldn't stop crying. (spoiler: he kept it safe). On their first night in New York, Brendan, Macey, and their siblings explored the city’s nightlife. The next morning, Macey’s mom was anxious that a possible hangover might keep her from getting ready. But Macey woke up feeling great, completely unaware of what was about to unfold. After a full day of exploring Times Square, the families made their way to Central Park. Brendan insisted on one particular (and crowded) spot for photos, even though Macey kept suggesting they move. When their turn came, they posed for a few pictures before Brendan pulled out the ring and asked, “Will you marry me?” Tears filled Macey’s eyes as she said yes, surrounded by family and the magic of the city. And just like that, their forever began. *Cue the Frank Sinatra*
