Chez Maman was the location of our first dinner date together. The french cuisine is elegant and flavorful, always a must for us when we visit the City!
We have had our share of visits to Tommy's Joynt both together and apart. The cafeteria-style restaurant is known for corn beef sandwiches, stew, spaghetti and many other hearty foods. Remember to bring cash!
Twin Peaks is a must for those visiting the City. You can either jog up to the peak (don't try to skip Stanyan Wall) and take in a foggy morning view or drive up on a lucky clear night to see SF in all its chilly glory.
Humphry Slocombe is sold in many locations, to include AMC Kabuki 8 in Japantown, and the ice cream is insanely good. They have probably over one hundred amazing flavors (locations are not all-encompassing), but be sure to try our favorite - Secret Breakfast.
San Francisco is by no means lacking in the knock-you-off-your-feet burrito department, and there is large debate on who has the best, but our favorite is the carnitas burrito at Street Taco. Perhaps it was the convenient location, a short walk from Golden Gate park and an even shorter walk to the great bars on Haight Street, but Street Taco always satisfies.
If you're looking for authentic German food and beer (seriously great beer served by the liter.. UP TO FIVE LITERS!)
The absolute best coffee anywhere, ever. Philz has several locations scattered around the City, but the Folsom Street location is the closest to our reception venue, in case you need a caffeine fix. If you like darker roasts, our favorite is Jacob's Wonderbar - light cream and sweetness.
Quite literally a hole in the wall, this is one for anyone who appreciates city grunge. Order a greasy box of really great food and head next door to the bar Tempest, where you can pair your meal with a drink.
Obviously we like beer. Really, though, this theater is great. Think cinebistro, but way cooler and classier and perfect.
We eat a lot of Pho. And we mean a LOT. Nothing beats Kevin’s, ask any USF or SF State student or alumni and they will tell you the same. The classic is flawless, but if you’re looking for something more unique and quite equally amazing, go for the Beef Stew. With all the fog and chill, you’ll probably be craving something warm anyway (don’t be deterred by a long wait list... they are very quick!)
