Jelisa's POV: The first time I met Brendan was at international convention back in 2019... I do not remember meeting him at all back then, which sounds horrible- I know. But, the beginning of 2020, a bunch of our mutual friends were going on a hike, and him an his family had gone along too. I very vividly remember at some point during the hike, it was just me and him going down the mountain, and we had started talking, and it was actually a really nice conversation. That's something that has always stuck out to me as our relationship later progressed, was that one conversation we had when we really first met, and how easy it was to talk to each other. But, the year went by, and I had started becoming really good friends with his sister, Alexis. I didn't really think too much of Brendan, other than he was part of our friend group and seemed cool to hang out with. But, late 2020-early 2021, I had noticed he was texting me more, coming over to drop off random things at our house, even got my family yellow flowers when my aunt had passed away. I knew something was up, but at the time I wasn't sure how I felt about it. One day he finally called me and told me, he wanted to get to know me better, and that he liked me.. And I liked him to...as a friend. Yea I know. I broke the poor guy's heart. But he was respectful of my feelings, and the summer of 2021 went by without us talking a whole lot, but we still remained friends. Towards the end of summer, beginning of fall, we had started talking a little bit more, and he was leaving for a trip to New York for two weeks. I thought nothing of it, until once he had left.
