Haley and Brendan first met in a coffee shop after talking to each other on the dating app Hinge. Brendan immediately fell head over heels for Haley, and managed to get her laughing right away. Over their next few dates they realized they had a lot in common including reading C.S. Lewis, a love for their families, working depressing jobs (anti-sexual exploitation and counter-terrorism), and drinking whiskey (to handle the depressing jobs). Brendan couldn't keep it together for long, and on the second month, he told Haley that he loved her. Haley, more prudent, waited until they were in a sunlit pasture in County Wicklow, Ireland, to drop the "L bomb". Since then they've been on many adventures including hiking the Colorado Rockies, driving through Tuscany, and finding skeletal remains along the Anacostia River (we're pretty sure it was an animal... pretty sure). In December, Brendan was deployed to Iraq, and for four months Haley wrote him beautiful love letters, as he tried to figure out her ring size. A couple months after he returned, Haley and Brendan spent the morning volunteering with their church, and planned to get library cards at the Library of Congress. They never got those library cards. It was all a lie. Brendan proposed to her on the way, and while they are excited for a future together, they both wonder what kind of books they could have gotten with that library card.
