The West Loop is our home and is where most of you will stay. This neighborhood is a foodie mecca. It has excellent eateries that have overtaken a former industrial area, turning the historic warehouses into some of the city’s hottest restaurants.
Pack your beach towel and enjoy a day by the water! Part of what makes Chicago so beautiful is its location on Lake Michigan. The lake will make you feel like you're by the ocean, minus the salt water and sea life.
We love our Saturday walks along the Chicago River! It is a great way to take in the river and skyscrapers from below the hustle and bustle of the Loop. There are countless outdoor spots for small bites and drinks. You can enter along Wacker Drive. The most popular entrances are at Wacker and Lake, Wacker and N Michigan, and Wacker and La Salle.
This may sound boring to some, but the architectural boat tours are a must! You will hear the stories behind the city’s iconic architecture and historic buildings from the most entertaining tour guides. There are a few tour companies and all of them are good.
Navy Pier is a popular spot for tourists. There is a giant Ferris wheel that offers a view of the whole city, plus there are some fun kid attractions. For adults, there is a cool rooftop bar called Offshore.
The Chicago Cubs will play the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field on Sunday, September 7, the day after our wedding. Hanging around Wrigleyville is a blast, whether you go for the game or not.
Millenium Park is where you can find the Bean, plus some beautiful gardens to walk through.
If you want to shop, we'd suggest going to the Mag Mile. There is a mix of pop-up, familiar, and luxury shops.
Fun and popular West Loop pizza place!
Our favorite restaurant!
Another fun and popular Mexican restaurant!
Green Street Meats is a more casual (underground) dining spot. You can order at the counter, sit at a community picnic table with others, and enjoy some BBQ!
