Brendan and Emily met at Liberty University following a bro-sis hall dinner. They bonded over their rivaling NFL teams on the walk to campus community. The following Wednesday, Emily asked Brendan how the patriots had done at the game that weekend. That simple question started an amazing friendship between the two, and they would talk and talk anytime there was a bro-sis hall event. A month after meeting, Brendan got up the courage and asked Emily out on a date. Instead of beginning a dating relationship, they continued as "just friends" until February when Brendan drove Emily 9 hours home because she had been so homesick. He asked her dad to date her, and they began a wonderful time of getting to know each other better, as they learned more about how to have a relationship where they pushed each other closer to the Lord and honored Him. Shortly after Christmas during the 2023 winter break, Brendan came up to visit Emily. On January 3rd, they had a lunch date at Olive Garden, followed by a walk on the creation trail. It was very cold and snowy, but Emily had an idea to make the walk better. She said "we should take a picture!" Brendan quickly agreed because that was in his plan anyways, unbeknownst to Emily. They came to a part of the trail where there was a bench right by the creek, and Brendan set up his phone to take the picture. He had actually started a video, though, and got down on one knee and proposed to Emily! She was shocked. But so excited! And she said yes! Because Brendan had planned out his proposal while they were at her house, they were able to go back to her house and tell her family! Then they got to call and tell the amazing news to their family and friends and celebrate with all the people they loved! After the wedding, Brendan and Emily plan to live around Culpeper, VA, and they are excited to serve in a local church together!
