So, what's happening with the reception and the ceremony?
Answer
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our venue canceled all 2021 event dates. We chose to get married anyway! Just differently than originally planned. It was a lovely intimate ceremony and reception with only immediate family and heads of the Wedding Party in attendance. We loved our special day and are happy to be living our lives married. Planning a reception for Summer 2022 became an impossible task due the nature of Ashley's medical school schedule at this time. She is auditioning for residencies, interview offers come in at unpredictable times, and board exam dates are only schedulable so many months in advance. Therefore, there is no reception for this summer. We hope that you have all received the cards we sent in celebration of our anniversary. If we ever decide to throw a party in celebration of all our life events these past couple of years, you will be joyously invited to join.

What do I do about a gift?
Answer
Please do not feel obligated to give us a gift. Your thoughts, well-wishes, and a mental note to attend a future life event celebration is all that we ask of you! If you want to give a gift anyways, we have created options. We have a small registry for physical gifts, a Venmo account if you'd like to contribute to our honeymoon travels, or a spot for you to donate to our favorite charity. For those of you who have already generously given us a wedding gift, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Why July 4th Weekend?
Answer
We made this date decision with our guests in mind. We knew many, if not most, of you would be traveling from out of state. The holiday weekend would hopefully allow guests some time to come up and visit and actually have a chance to relax without taking much time off of work. If you were invited, we wanted you here and we wanted you to have a good time! This was our effort to be as accommodating as we could. Also, there will always be fireworks for our anniversary every year!
