Elder y yo nos conocimos en la boda de mi mejor amiga en enero de 2015. A pesar de ser una persona reservada, Elder reunió el valor para preguntarle a nuestro pastor quién era yo. Nos seguíamos viendo en la iglesia, donde siempre intentaba llamar mi atención… sin éxito. Con el tiempo, finalmente lo desbloqueé y, dos días después, me envió un mensaje. Fue persistente, y tras cuatro invitaciones, finalmente acepté salir con él. A lo largo de los meses, construimos una amistad profunda que creció hasta convertirse en algo más. Elder me enseñó a amar y ser amada como nunca antes lo había experimentado. ¡Parecía una historia sacada de una película! El 3 de junio de 2024, Elder me sorprendió con la propuesta más hermosa en Chandler, Arizona. Lo que creí que sería solo una cita para tomar café se convirtió en uno de los días más felices de mi vida. ¡Dije SÍ para siempre! Dios siempre ha estado en el centro de nuestra relación. Juntos hemos servido, orado y crecido en fe. También hemos enfrentado momentos dolorosos, como la partida de la mamá de Elder, Su recuerdo nos inspira a amar con intención, a valorar cada momento y a vivir con gratitud. Aunque no estará físicamente con nosotros el día de nuestra boda, sabemos que su amor nos acompañará siempre. Despite being a reserved person, Elder gathered the courage to ask our pastor who I was. Shortly after, he added me on every social media platform—but being shy, I blocked him. I had never dated anyone or even been on a date, and the thought of it made me nervous. We continued to see each other at church, where he would always try to catch my attention… with no success. Eventually, I unblocked him, and just two days later, he sent me a message. He was persistent, and after four invitations, I finally agreed to go out with him. Over the months, we built a deep friendship that blossomed into something more. Elder taught me how to love and to be loved in a way I had never experienced before. It truly felt like something out of a movie! On June 3, 2024, Elder surprised me with the most beautiful proposal in Chandler, Arizona. What I thought would just be a simple coffee date turned into one of the happiest days of my life. I said YES to forever! God has always been at the center of our relationship. Together, we have served, prayed, and grown in faith. We have also faced painful moments, like the passing of Elder’s mother. Her memory inspires us to love intentionally, to cherish every moment, and to live with gratitude. While she won’t be physically with us on our wedding day, we know her love will always surround us.
