How We Met

Always there...

Conner and I knew each other from high school, but we never traveled in the same friend groups. We also belonged to the same youth group at church, but again, we never really talked to each other. After graduation we both went our separate ways; I was at Texas State and Conner was working as an EMT in Austin. Fast forward a year later and I was back at our church and volunteering with the high school youth group and lucky for me Conner was also volunteering with the high schoolers. We saw each other occasionally at different church events but we still hadn't really talked to each other. A couple months into me being a small group leader I saw Conner at the rivalry football game for our town, that was the first night we had a real conversation and something just clicked. It wasn't long after that when we went on our first date and well the rest is history...

The Proposal

Pinterest worthy Proposal

Every December, Conner and I make it a point to go to the Riverwalk because we love looking at all the beautiful Christmas lights. When December rolled around this year and we planned a date for the Riverwalk, it didn't seem like anything out of the norm. Conner told me to get dressed up because we'd be going somewhere fancy for dinner, again nothing out of the ordinary. We get to the Riverwalk and to my surprise, our fancy dinner was at Tower of the Americas, it was the most romantic dinner ever because Conner planned it to where we'd be there right at Sunset overlooking the beautiful city of San Antonio. After an amazing dinner we started walking down the river and we come up to this empty riverboat, Conner then gets in the boat and tell me to get on too. I started getting confused because we had an entire riverboat to OURSELVES! We sit down and I start asking Conner why we have a riverboat just for the two of us and he then pulls out a letter that he typed up and begins reading it to me. Before he gets to the end of the letter (by this point I'm already balling my eyes out) Conner tells me to look up at this bridge because I might recognize some people. Sure enough both our families and friends are up on this bridge holding light up letters (that Conner made) that spelled out "WILL YOU MARRY ME?", I turn back to look at Conner and there he is on one knee with the sparkliest ring I have ever seen. It was the sweetest and more romantic proposal ever!
