Travis was in town for the weekend for a Halloween gallery show of his favorite artist, Alex Pardee. He was on a simple mans trip, just exploring and hanging in coffee shops. On the 28th, we were both in Denver at Amethyst Coffee Shop at the same time. Neither of us knew each other, we were sitting on opposite sides of the wall in the coffee shop. I was with a friend, and he was drawing. As I was leaving with friends I snapped a picture of the coffee shop, and Travis was in it! I posted that picture to my instagram stories because I was doing a tour of different coffee shops that I visited through out 2018. However, when I looked back at my camera reel I realized I had taken a picture where Travis looked right at me. I was positive he had caught me. I posted another picture on Instagram stories saying, "I should have introduced myself..." I said this because I could tell he was an artist, AND I thought he caught me looking at him. A few hours later, a mutual friend of ours messaged me saying he knew Travis. I was like, what?! He told me Travis was from Memphis, was an artist and a christian, etc... I didn't really think much about it except that it was a crazy. At the same time, our mutual friend messaged Travis, asking if he was in Denver. Travis was like, "yesss, but how did you know that?" He told him I posted some stories about him on Instagram. Travis introduce himself that day with private messages and that began our casual friendship. We saw each others lives unfold over a year and half on instagram. We never once talked on the phone, haha, crazy I know! Travis eventually wanted to meet me in person, and I wanted to meet him too. It took us losing both our jobs (COVID 2020), him getting hired by the discovery channel for the show, Street Outlaws, and whole lot more to finally meet! But, we did! July 19th, 2020, we finally met in person and hit it off! The short version but the rest is history as they say!
Travis wanted us to hike the Manitou Incline on our dating anniversary. He told me he was going to bring all his camera equipment to the top (2,764 steps) to take pictures. I didn't think much about it because he is a photographer. (I did however think how cool it would be to get engaged, but I shrugged it off.) Hours later (and lots of sweat), we made it to the top. Travis set up his camera to take a picture of us. I thought it was on a timer...I was wrong. He was taking a video! After our "pictures," he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Apparently I said, "What?" lol. Then, I nodded my head, and finally I thought it best to say YES. We're so excited to celebrate our next chapter with you! See you in CO Springs!
