There are 2 airports you can take – Leon or Queretaro. Below are facts about each airport: (1) The Aeropuerto del Bajio (BJX) also known as the Leon-Guanajuato Airport located 110 km (about an hour and 20-minute drive) from San Miguel. (2) Aeropuerto Internacional de Queretaro (QRO), located 75 km (about an hour and 10-minute drive) from San Miguel de Allende.
More to come :)
We are kindly asking our guests to wear semi-formal attire. Gentlemen can wear a suit and Ladies can wear mid-length dresses. We also request that you dress in attire that is mainly neutral colored (cream, pastels, sage, light grey, beige, etc). This will help create a cohesive and elegant look that will enhance the overall wedding theme and atmosphere. Here is a link to a mood board for examples and more specifics: https://pin.it/5lz5gOXtq
The only advice we can give for the girls is to wear stilettos at your discretion. Due to the pavement and terrain of Casa Adela, you might want to wear heels that are a little thicker. But the choice is up to you!
If you have an invitation that gives you the option for a guest, we have already placed them at our tables!
Due to the destination aspect of our event and the limited capacity of our venue, we kindly request that our guests refrain from bringing anybody under the age of 18 to the wedding. We appreciate your understanding in helping us make our wedding day as special as possible.
Most businesses accept international credit cards, but we recommend bringing Pesos just in case! Most banks can exchange USD for Pesos, but we recommend doing this at least two weeks in advance.. If you decide to not bring Pesos and just use your credit card, please ensure you contact your bank at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival in Mexico! Also, a self-help hack is to download a currency converter app (I use Cashmate) so you can easily budget and estimate what this evens out to in American dollars.
We would love for you to join us at the Welcome Party/Cocktail Hour in San Miguel, Friday Sept 5th at Zumo Address: Quebrada 93 We ask that if you can, please arrive in San Miguel on or before Sept 05th whether you attend the festivities the night before. All activities, other than the wedding itself, are optional, but we would love to have you there!
Even though Mexico uses the same type of charger as the United States, Mexico wall outlets are not required to be polarized, therefore an adapter plug may be needed to plug in your devices that have polarized plugs (one pin larger than the other). We recommend that you check with the hotel you are staying at just to ensure that your electronics are adaptable.
Your American cell phone will work in Mexico as long as you have international coverage included in your plan. In that case, you should have no problem using your phone in Mexico and staying connected during your trip. We will also be using Whatsapp to communicate.
Regardless of which airport you choose to fly into (Leon International or Santiago de Querétaro) they both are fairly the same in distance – about a 1 hr drive to the city. There is not much in between the airport and San Miguel. It's mostly land/countryside. But once you get closer to the city, the scenic will start to get more colorful :)
Head to travel.state.gov to review all passport-related inquiries. If you are applying for the first time, the passport book is the only document approved for international air travel. Estimated Processing Times: Routine, 6 to 9 weeks; Expedited, 3 to 5 weeks.
The average temperature in San Miguel de Allende in September for a typical day ranges from a high of 77°F (25°C) to a low of 55°F (13°C). Some would describe it as mildly cool with a gentle breeze. We suggest you prepare accordingly as it may be a little breezy in the evening.
While the town is tourist-friendly, there may still be instances where English-speaking assistance may not be readily available, especially when it comes to reading signs, menus, or other written information. For this, we suggest downloading the Google Translate app from your phone's app store. With Google Translate, you have the option to scan things with your camera and the app will instantly translate text for you. Of course, we are more than happy to assist in any area you need. But having Google Translate will give you an extra layer of support, ensuring you can easily navigate through any Spanish-only text you encounter Google Translate is available for both Android and iPhone.
