In case you haven't watched it, here is our save the date video. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did ♥
Honestly, it was like someone flipped a switch. First we were getting settled in our dorms for college orientation, and then suddenly I was introducing myself to a guy named Freddy. We instantly clicked. It wasn't just the shared love for ball (baseball and softball), though that definitely helped. It also had to due with his demeanor. Freddy had this easy charm, a kind of quiet confidence that just… worked. And me? Well, I'm the one who's never met a stranger. We were total opposites, but it felt right from the start. That 'right from the start' feeling got its first test on what became our first date. We took a walk to my favorite spot, this bridge that sat right over the train tracks in York. I loved going there to clear my head, the rumble of the trains and the rush of air always gave me this jolt of adrenaline. So, there we were, the soft glow of the streetlights, the distant sound of an approaching train, and then… our first kiss. It was perfect, a mix of that adrenaline rush and something completely new. And just as things were getting good... BAM! Another couple strolls up, completely oblivious. Seriously, talk about the world's worst timing. We awkwardly laughed and decided to head back. That's our first kiss story, awkward and all. A few weeks later, on September 16, 2018, Freddy asked me to be his girlfriend in the most adorable way. He took me to the zoo with his family, and we had an absolute blast. I mean, who doesn't love a day at the zoo? As we were leaving, he surprised me with an elephant necklace and this little clam shell. Inside the clam was a pearl. He carefully removed the pearl, placed it in the necklace, and then, with the biggest smile, asked me to be his girlfriend. My stomach was doing flips! He knew how much I loved elephants, and the whole gesture was just so thoughtful and sweet. It was perfect. And so, our adventure began. We were officially a team, ready to take on whatever came our way. Little did we know, the real tests were just around the corner, starting with the daunting task of moving to a whole new city for PA school after graduating undergrad. Navigating the challenges of this move put our relationship to the test. Freddy was strong; he always found a way to make things work, and he made sure I was taken care of, no matter what. PA school was incredibly demanding, and being in a city with just the two of us was hard for both of us. We leaned on each other for everything. Our bond became our greatest strength. And then came the proposal during my graduation photoshoot March 30th, 2024 – Freddy and my best friend had secretly planned the whole thing. He orchestrated the perfect setting, and as I turned around while posing for my photos, there he was, down on one knee. I was so shocked, I almost forgot to say yes through the tears of joy. The intimate gesture, the sun setting in the background and the romantic vibes were almost too much to handle. Almost. It was a day filled with so many joyful tears and so much love. From our impromptu road trips to our kitchen dance-offs (Freddy's moves still need some work, just saying), every moment shared is a comedy-filled adventure with a whole lotta love sprinkled on top. And as we set out to create our fun-filled nest, surrounded by friends and family who've been our relationship cheerleaders, we invite you to join us in celebrating our happily ever after. Laughter, love, and lifelong antics await – get ready for the ride of a lifetime!
