Engagement story

02/09/25

The evening felt different as I stepped into the apartment, a soft fragrance filling the air. I couldn’t quite place it, but it made my heart flutter. I closed the door behind me, and that’s when I saw them—rose petals scattered delicately on the pink fluffy rug, each step leading toward my bedroom. My breath caught in my throat as I slowly followed the path, my pulse quickening with excitement and curiosity. When I stepped into the room, the scene before me took my breath away. The space was bathed in the warm glow of candlelight. On the desk and bed, my favorite snacks and chocolates were arranged, and the sweet scent of the candles hung in the air. It felt like the world had melted away, leaving only the two of us in this perfect, romantic moment as my two closest friends record from the hallway. Just then, the closet door creaked open, and there he was—Evin. My heart skipped a beat as the soft notes of "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer began to fill the room, our song, the one we always sang along to on lazy afternoons together. He smiled at me with that look in his eyes—the one that made everything feel so right. His voice was soft, full of love, as he began speaking, each word sinking deep into my heart. As he spoke, my emotions overwhelmed me, and I felt my eyes well up with tears, both from joy and love. Evin then lowered himself onto one knee, and my breath caught in my throat. The soft candlelight flickered around him as he held out the gold ring catching the light just perfectly. With a smile, he looked up at me and asked the words that would change our lives forever. "Will you marry me?" In that moment, everything stood still. I couldn’t hold back the smile that spread across my face. "Yes!" my voice trembling with emotion. He stood, taking my hands in his, pulling me into a kiss. Time seemed to stop as we held each other. The room around us faded into the background as we hugged, knowing this was just the beginning of our forever together. And in that moment, I knew that love was all we needed to make every day as magical as this one.
