Snowshoe

Whether you're a seasoned rider or a beginner, there's a trail for you. Kayaking on Shavers Lake Take a scenic ride down the Ballhooter Chair Lift to Shavers Lake, where you can rent a kayak or canoe. Paddle across the tranquil waters and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings. Scenic Lift Rides Experience the beauty of Snowshoe Mountain from above with a ride on the scenic chair lifts. It's a relaxing way to take in the lush summer landscapes.

Seneca Rocks Discovery Center

Our favorite hike in WV! Seneca Rocks is a must-see natural landmark perfect for hiking, rock climbing, and taking in breathtaking views. While you're there, check out the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center to learn about the area's unique geology and history, and don’t miss a stop at the charming general store for local snacks, souvenirs, and small-town vibes.

Green Bank Observatory

Green Bank Observatory & Science Center Home to the world's largest fully steerable radio telescope, the Green Bank Observatory offers guided tours, interactive exhibits, and the "Catching the Wave" exhibit hall. Don't miss the Galaxy Gift Shop and the Starlight Café for a delightful meal.

Spruce Knob

Spruce Knob Observation Tower As the highest point in West Virginia at nearly 5,000 feet, Spruce Knob offers 360-degree views of the Allegheny Mountains. The Whispering Spruce Trail is a short, scenic loop perfect for all ages.

Shavers Fork Road & Seneca Trail

Whitewater Rafting & Kayaking – Head to nearby Seneca Creek Gorge or the Shavers Fork River for a refreshing summer float, tubing, or guided raft trip. Scenic Drives / Waterfalls – Take the Highlands Scenic Highway and stop at overlooks or small cascades along the way.
