The engagement ceremony will include the below: 1) Immediate families gift baskets of dry fruits, sweets, and gifts, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. 2) Siman will propose to Bree in front of family and friends. 3) Parents of the bride and groom present shagun (gifts) to the couple, which may include clothes, jewelry, and money, symbolizing their blessings. 4) Chunni (veil) Ceremony: the chuni is placed over the bride’s head by the groom’s mother or sister, symbolizing welcoming her into the family. 5) Shagun (gifts): Guests present shagun (gifts of prosperity) to the couple, symbolizing their blessings. 6) Dinner & Celebration: Post-ceremony, the guests enjoy a joyful celebration with traditional Punjabi cuisine, music and dancing.
