Bree and Phil met in the fall of 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky. Bree had just moved to Lexington to complete her final rotation of graduate school through the University of Texas Dallas as a licensed SLP. Phil was beginning his second year at the University of Kentucky College of Law. After a couple of left and right swipes, Phil and Bree actually met on the dating app, Bumble! The two decided to meet after what Bree best described as “well above average conversation.” One outdoor park bench, two Graeter’s ice cream cones, and three hours of conversation later, it was clear this was the start of something very special. Over the course of eighteen months the two not only fell in love, but became best friends. Highlights of that eighteen months have included: Bree graduating from grad school and beginning work full-time as a speech therapist at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington, Phil graduating from law school and getting a job at the Department of Public Advocacy in Frankfort, Phil discovering the state of Texas, Bree discovering the state of Illinois, and Phil slowly but surely winning over the approval of Bree’s adorable little cat, Layla. Above everything else, their shared love of Jesus and one another has only continued to grow with time. On June 28, Phil drove Bree to what she thought was going to be a family photoshoot scheduled by her parents at Gratz Park in Lexington. As it began to rain, Phil and Bree walked with the photographer to a spot that he had secretly picked out to propose. Phil waited for the right moment and when he knelt down, asked Bree to marry him. Based on this website, you have guessed correctly that she said yes. The two look forward to getting married and starting their home together in April 2021.
