How we met!

We met in our freshman year in high school, and I (the bride) used to call him Zachary and his cowboy boots. We used to pick on eachother in our teacher Mr. Klien’s science class. There would be papers on the table and we’d argue about who’s trash it was and pass it back and forth on the table. Then in other classes he’d throw rubber bands at me, or throw springs and they’d stick in my hair. Finally, the end of our freshman year was over and he asked me out on June 19, 2017.

The proposal!

10/14/2021

Coincidentally, I decided to do my nails that day before I even knew anything. We had decided a while ago to carve pumpkins for something to do for fall. Zachary told me that he wanted me to do my hair and make up and get dressed up. He hadn’t seen me dress up in a while. (he normally asks things like this all the time so I didn’t suspect a thing). I came over his house after I got dressed and ready and he came out wearing a vest. I thought this was suspicious because he never wears that vest. However, I still didn’t think he was going to ask. We went to Walmart to go get pumpkins to carve. Then, we went to the park because we wanted to carve the pumpkins at Beaver Creek. He looked at me once we set the pumpkins down and said that he wanted to have a competition. Whoever had the best pumpkin would win. So we carve pumpkins for a while. Then, when we were both done carving we set the pumpkins down in a way that neither of us could see what the other had done. We walked out in front of the pumpkins without looking at them turned around. Then, Zachary said on the count of three we’ll turn around and judge. He said three, we turned around and on his pumpkin he carved out the words will you marry me. At first I had thought it was a joke. Until I looked over at Zachary and he was on knee. Zachary had the ring out and said “Breanna Marye Garver will you …” he barely got out the words before I was crying and I hugged him and said “yes!”
