How we met

January 2014

Alex was a 19 year old sophmore in college and BreAnna was a 17 year old senior in high school attending college classes. BreAnna was looking for a spot to sit to wait for her Intro to Anthropology class, but all of the campus tables were taken up. Alex was sitting at a high-top table right outside the door with a free chair. BreAnna asked him if she could sit there and he said it was fine. They sat close to each other in class, a person separating them. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday they sat together at the table closest to their classroom for an hour. They began talking, and eventually Alex took a leap of faith messaging her on Facebook. BreAnna asked Alex for his number and they began talking as friends. BreAnna began to feel Alex was interested so she asked him on a date. Their first date they went to the Robocop remake. They began to sit next to each other. Alex asked BreAnna on their second date to a wedding reception, where she met his immediate family and his family mom's entire side of the family. She was introduced as Alex's girlfriend even though they had not discussed being in a relationship yet. Their third date, the LEGO movie was when Alex finally had the courage to hold her hand, 3/4ths of the way through. They held pinkies for a good 20 minutes before Alex had the courage to lace his fingers with her. That day there was a terrible snow storm, but they still wanted to spend time together. They braved the storm to go to a ceramic pottery painting studio, in his 1992 Camry. She then found out during the drive he needed glasses when he kept asking her to read street signs. They barely made it only to find out that the place was closed. They shared their first kiss on the front steps of BreAnna's home in South St. Paul, a few days after Valentine's day. BreAnna asked Alex if he was going to kiss her, and he obliged. Alex asked BreAnna (with her suggestion) to be his girlfriend on February 27th 2014, just a few days prior to her 18th birthday.

The Engagement

December 14th 2017

After a day of Christmas shopping, spending time with one another, and going to the newest Star War's movie they drove home. Alex kept trying to get BreAnna to go out to dinner somewhere but she was too worried about studying for finals. She compromised with going to get fast food. They got Wendy's because she didn't have time to study if they went to a sit down restaurant. Since it was dead of winter, she tried to rush into the house to keep the food warm. Alex went down on one knee and BreAnna tried to catch him thinking he slipped on ice, nearly pulling him up. Alex proposed on the front steps while her hands were full of food. She said yes without hesitation, hugging him and squishing the food. The ring was put on her finger inside the warmth of the house.

Our Family

BreAnna and Alex knew within the first 6 months that they were with their soulmate. When they reached around their 1 year anniversary they began expanding their family. It began with a small Siamese kitten. Mia lived with them from 2015 until 2021 when an unexpected illness took her from them. She was a very spoiled cat, with her parents catering to her every wish. BunBun the bunny was brought into the family when he bonded with BreAnna rather than Lorenzo, his intented adopted father. Bun was adopted in 2017 and died in 2021 from cancer, five days before Mia's death. He taught both BreAnna and Alex many things including how to fight a bunny for a box of Cheezits. Nubbs made his way into BreAnna and Alex's heart in 2019 when he followed Julie home one day. BreAnna and Alex immediately fell in love with the big stray cat and he continues to live his days full of love and spoiled as all hell. He is a gentle giant but will occasionally show Dad that he is from the streets with a quick smack to the head. Mia and Bun's death devastated BreAnna and Alex so they decided to adopt a kitten to keep their minds on the present. Tapatìo or Tìo came into their lives in July of 2021 to help with BreAnna's depression. In August Tío was diagnosed with a life threatening disease where their vet advised them to put him down. BreAnna and Alex knew that Tío was a warrior and his life should be saved. BreAnna and Alex found an experimental treatment, which they purchased from an underground community of vets, to save his life. He is officially FIP free as of 2/14 and beat the illness. He cost them approximately $4,500 for his treatment and the main reason they are so relieved to be able to afford the wedding they want. In order to keep Nubbs's sanity from Tio's crazy energy they just added a new member of the family Eve! She is the sweetest little cuddle bug with the softest black fur. Oddly enough she will also fight you for white cheddar Cheezit's much like Bun
