How We Met

Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

We met through an online dating app after both of us had gotten out of long term relationships. We chatted for about a month before I finally agreed to meet Jordan face to face. I was with my maid of honor Mackenzie and he was with his good friends Gavin and Jason when we agreed to meet face to face. That same night he introduced me to southern moonshine and we shared our first kiss in the parking lot. He texted me the following morning asking to take me on a real date and we went out for Italian that evening. Neither one of us took more than 10 bites of our pasta because we were so engaged in conversation. We continued to talk every day after that until he notified me that he was deploying for the first time ever. Just my luck that I find the man of my dreams and then he leaves for 4 months off to Turkey. We embraced it and continued to talk as friends for the time that he was over there. A month of deployment in and we both decided we couldn't wait to call each other ours. We began dating officially on July 17th 2018 and video chatted everyday for the rest of deployment. We wouldn't change anything in the world because we appreciate every minute that we get to spend together and it has brought us to where we are today.

The Proposal

Let's Go Chasing Waterfalls

It was 2 years and 9 months into our relationship when we decided to take a fun trip down to Oregon. Jordan had never been and we both wanted to explore the brewery scene over in Bend. Along the way down to Bend we stopped at Silver Falls State Park to hike the Trail of Ten Falls. This hike had become a bucket list item for me and Jordan knew how excited I was about it. We got down there and took off on our 8.4 mile hiking loop taking photos of the magnificent waterfalls along the way. We came up on waterfall number 5 called Twin Falls and Jordan asked me to face the waterfall so that he could take a picture of me admiring it. After he snapped the photo, I turned around and he was on one knee. I couldn't believe my eyes and couldn't stop smiling. He asked me to marry him and I almost forgot to say yes, I was so happy. I ended up saying YES of course and we went along our way taking in the beauty around us while discussing all of the exciting things for our future. We have a lot of dreams together and we are so excited for you all to be a part of it.
