Flight
We recommend flying in and out of Montrose. You will likely need to rent a car or hire transportation to Ouray. Montrose is 50 minute drive to Ouray, but the drive is absolutely stunning. Aim for earlier flights as the flights to and from Montrose can be limited. Layovers are required but can be taken from Denver or Houston for an easy transfer.

The next best option would be Grand Junction. There will be additional flight options but it is a further drive to Ouray than Montrose (2 hours). You will likely need to rent a car. Another option would be to fly in to Telluride, but these flights can be even more limited. The flight in to the airport is pretty stellar and the ride to Ouray is just about an hour. You will need hired transportation or to rent a car to Ouray but this is probably one of the prettiest drives in the country to do.
