Aaron and I first crossed paths in an unlikely place—a Disney chatroom, before his first marriage. We bonded over our mutual love for Disney, sharing countless conversations filled with nostalgia and dreams. Despite the passage of time and changes in our lives, including Aaron's marriage, we stayed connected through social media. The turning point came when I was in Boston for my Master's graduation. Aaron reached out, reminiscing about our old conversations and expressing his long-held desire to visit Boston. Our renewed conversations were as effortless as they were enjoyable. From there, we reconnected more deeply, sharing our lives and aspirations once again. The spark of our friendship was reignited, and the rest, as they say, was history.
After two wonderful years of dating, Aaron decided it was time to propose. He meticulously planned every detail, starting with asking for permission from all three parents. Enlisting the help of my mom, he crafted a perfect proposal. His chosen venue was the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine during the enchanting Nights of Lights festival. In the days leading up to the proposal, Aaron was so nervous that he started picking little fights to throw me off the scent. I had no idea what he was planning. On the big night, he arranged for my entire family to be there, ready to capture the moment on video and camera. When the moment finally arrived, Aaron got down on one knee, surrounded by the sparkling lights. The icing on the cake was DJ presenting me with a giant bouquet of long-stem roses, almost as tall as I am. It was a beautiful, magical moment that I will cherish forever. And yes, I did cry like the romantic baby I am.
