We are getting married!

What I thought would be a simple early-morning sunrise at the beach turned into the biggest surprise of my life. The night before, he told me to wake up early so we could watch the sunrise together, and I didn’t think twice. While he drove, I fell asleep in the passenger seat—only to wake up as we were pulling into the Fort Lauderdale airport parking garage. Confused, I looked at him, and he smiled and told me my mom and sisters had packed an outfit and makeup for me. We were spending the day in Charleston, South Carolina. After a quick flight, he took me to breakfast, and then we wandered toward the Charleston pier. As we watched dolphins playing in the water, I turned around to find him down on one knee with a ring—asking me to marry him. The rest of the day felt like a dream: a horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown, exploring a local farmers market, and an early dinner on the pier. We ended the day at Chad and Hannah’s house, reliving every moment before heading home—with the most perfect “yes” I’ve ever said.
