The Proposal

When we first said, "I Love You."

On Thursday evening, May 14, 2026. Brayden and his family invited Ke'Yhara over for dinner. They had a great time hanging out. Eating dinner, watching sports, talking and laughing. Gramma pulled out ice cream, and everyone just chilled. Later on, Brayden walked Ke'Yhara out to her car. They stood there talking for a couple of minutes. Both relating on where they were mentally and spiritually. Brayden then asked Ke'Yhara if she would be okay with walking back to his home, he had to move his dads truck. Ke'Yhara says yes of course, and they walk back over to Braydens home. He asks her to wait outside, and she stands waiting on the sidewalk. Maybe a minute or two pass, Brayden walks back out, and asks Ke'Yhara, "What is it that you said to me on Tuesday after Community Group?" Ke'Yhara replies, trying to remember everything that she said, giving a ball park answer. They were words of gratitude and encouragement. They are hugging at this time. Brayden then says..."I love you." With excitement and a warm heart, Ke'Yhara immediately says it back, reaching for a hug. It didn't dawn on her at the moment that they agreed to say these words for the first time on one of two occasions: while engaged or when married. He gently pushes her back a little, saying "I have something else to say." He kicks off his shoes. Ke'Yhara says, "Better barefoot." With no idea of what was about to happen. Brayden gets on his knee. She is in complete shock, just staring at him. He then says a few words, before saying, "Ke'Yhara Tommie, will you marry me?" The both of them, now overwhelmed with disbelief, joy, happiness, excitement, surprise, nerves. She cries and goes to hug him. Seconds later, says yes. Brayden puts the beautiful ring on her finger. The first person to know, was Gramma Sue!
