Our Story

The First Date

It was at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls where the paths of two student-athletes, Braxtyn and Lindsey, first began to cross. After two weeks of constant Snapchat communication, Lindsey decided to take matters into her own hands with a simple question: "So when are you going to ask me out?" The first date wasn't a fancy restaurant; it was a home-cooked meal in her apartment. On November 11, 2021, Lindsey made Braxtyn chicken burritos (at his request)- a meal he declared "the best... because I hadn't had homemade food in months." As the night ended with a hug, Lindsey knew right away that he was the man she would marry. Braxtyn officially asked her to be his girlfriend a couple of weeks later on a bridge in Hudson, beginning their official date on November 22, 2021.

Officially "Hooked"

From the beginning, their shared life took shape around their love of sports and the outdoors (which Braxtyn introduced Lindsey to). While Lindsey cheered him at football games, Braxtyn cheered her at softball. In May 2022, Braxtyn introduced Lindsey to fishing on Lake Waconia; she was instantly "hooked" and spent the entire summer learning from him- how to fish, how to hold a fish without fear, and how to identify every one. As their relationship grew, they navigated a busy life of milestones. They cheered each other through their senior seasons and graduations, celebrated anniversaries, embarked on adventures. They always made time for what mattered most: family, fishing, and each other. Finding a church together, moving into their new townhome, and designing Lindsey's dream ring were all steps on the path to their future. On the morning of July 12, 2025. Out on Lake Waconia, doing what they both love most, Braxtyn asked Lindsey to marry him. She, of course, said yes!

What's Next?

As a couple, they are a perfect balance. Lindsey admires Braxtyn for his sweet and caring nature, his calm and collected demeanor, and his incredible drive to be better. He is her rock and her biggest cheerleader. Braxtyn, in turn, loves Lindsey's compassionate heart, her desire to help others (and her cooking). He cherishes that she not only supports his hobbies but actively participates in them. He loves that she is always willing to try. Now, with the countdown on, they are busy with wedding planning, spending time with family, fishing, and hunting! They chose to get married on the 22nd of the month to honor the date their relationship started. Braxtyn and Lindsey are excited to begin their life as a married couple next August!
