Both our ceremony and reception will take place at Palmetto’s on the Bayou.
Both events will be held on a large, covered deck attached to the main restaurant and overlooking the bayou. In the event of cold or wet weather, the deck can be fully enclosed and heated for comfort.
In early November in Slidell, LA, you can expect mild temperatures in the late afternoon and early evening, around 65–75°F. Evenings by the bayou can feel cooler, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for comfort.
Heels are fine! Just be cautious with pointed heels, as there is gravel in the parking area and a multi-level deck to navigate. Block heels are recommended for easier walking, and comfortable shoes are a good idea if you plan to take family photos under the beautiful oak tree.
The closest airport is Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), approximately 50 minutes from the Holiday Inn Covington.
We won’t be providing transportation from the hotel to the venue, so we recommend using Uber, Lyft, or a designated driver.
Yes! There is plenty of gravel parking available on the property.
Bringing children is completely optional, so parents can choose what works best for their family. We’re thrilled to celebrate with little ones! Please note that the event is on a raised, multi-level deck on the water, so a little extra supervision will help everyone stay safe and enjoy the evening.
Yes! Dinner and dessert will be provided via buffet service.
Yes, there will be an open bar with beer, wine, and liquor.
After the reception, guests looking to continue the evening may enjoy The Brass Monkey, a local favorite just a 3-minute drive from Palmettos. This is not a hosted wedding event, but we wanted to share a fun option for anyone who isn't ready to call it a night.
