The Story Of US

Anything But Ordinary

We technically really met in the backseat of a car, on the way to a bachelorette party. We had just fully met moments prior before getting into the car. The 4 door sedan was already crammed, so since Brax was the shortest of the bunch, Kat had become a seat for Braxton. Literally Brax sat on Kats lap to the first stop of the night. While we chatted here and there during the night, we really got to know each other at the infamous Coyote Joes bar. We pretty much hung out with each other most of that evening. We rode a bull together, Kat even saved Brax from some drunken girl who was trying to dance with them and take off their flannel. Brax remembers clearly going out for a smoke, with their hand reaching behind them as Kat followed. It was within those moments that our internal receptors for firing. We drank, we danced, and we stayed up well into the night. After that, our only means of talking for the next two weeks was through Snapchat, until we finally were able to make plans to see each other again that we exchanged numbers. While we were both in completely different places in our lives, there was something that kept pulling us together. We would meet up here and there for any spare moments that we could, the energy and love was true from that very first car ride together. Then, everything aligned. We moved in together, we became a family, the four of us. Braxton knew that it was time to lock it down and make Kat their wife, their forever partner, the Zelda to their Link and the Princess Peach to their Mario. In February of 2019, Brax proposed to Kat right in their living room (after much preparation leading up to that exact moment). Everything went perfectly. We spent that night celebrating our engagement and the next morning, hangover and all, we started planning our wedding. The OG date (June 13th 2020) was picked, the venue, the food, the photographer, the cake, the flowers, the dress, the suit, the hair and makeup were all planned, the save the dates and invites were mailed, the wedding shower was planned and everything was done! We were GETTING MARRIED. But then, all of it, with the flip of a switch, was erased in a blink of the eye. There was no more venue, there was no more caterer or wedding planner, there was no more wedding date. The loss of all of that was hard. Harder than most know about. We went through so many emotions of sadness, heartbreak, anger. Although it was all out of our control, the spiral of everything coming apart was devastating. Then June 13 202 came and went, the days turned into weeks and we were still reeling in awe of everything that had transpired. That is when we took it upon ourselves to legally get married. On October 28, 2020, Braxton and Kat had an intimate backyard wedding that consisted of them, their best friend Dana officiating, our lovely photographer to capture the moment, and our two incredible neighbors Linda and Davy we were spur of the moment the day of asked if they would come and be our witnesses. And while we were elated to have that marriage certificate and legally become The Young's there was still always a hole in our hearts about not having our special day. Fast forward to October 28 2024, as Braxton and Kat celebrated their four year wedding anniversary. It was on that day, that Braxton was already planning on how they would spend their five year anniversary. That night Braxton had the idea of "I'm going to re-propose and we are going to start this all over." And from that day, Braxton began to put into action for the second best proposal ever. And with much planning, Braxton secured a new ring, and pulled off the second biggest proposal secret. During their annual anniversary trip, on October 28 2025, Braxton got down on one knee (in front of a giant floral dragon) and re-proposed at The Floral Shophouse in Niagara Falls, Canada. And that brings us to today, where we are overjoyed to be inviting you to the much anticipated wedding of Kat and Braxton Young.
