David and Sarah met one fateful night in late March 2012, at “HopScotch”, an annual Beer and Whiskey festival held in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. They owe this serendipitous occasion to their mutual friends Meagan and Kartik. David almost didn’t even make it to the event and Sarah was in no way expecting Kartik to bring a friend along that night, especially after recently swearing off dating for good. Needless to say, the chemistry was almost immediate between these two twenty-somethings.
Only a short seven years, two moves, and countless adventures later David FINALLY decided to pop the question. One dreary Friday evening in April, David and Sarah sat curled up on their sofa watching their favorite television show Friends. Both were feeling a bit under the weather and Friends provided the perfect kind of comfort TV one needs in order to nurse a springtime cold. For probably at least the 10th time, the two watched as Monica Geller proposed to Chandler Bing in “The One with the Proposal” . Those who know Sarah may be aware that she’s a bit of a “weeper” when it comes to TV and movies, so couldn’t help but shed a happy tear or two as the episode came to a close. David, on the other hand, is not much of a crier, and at times has been jokingly been accused of being “dead inside” (not unlike one Chandler Bing). David was giving Sarah a hard time, calling her “mushy”. Sarah quipped back that one day David would have to get a little “mushy” himself and promptly went back to distracting herself on her phone. Unbeknownst to Sarah, David had been ring shopping since the start of the year and had just received the ring that day. The next thing she knew, David was coming out of the hallway and into the living room with a small box in his hands. She sat there in total shock and disbelief as David got down on one knee and explained to her that this was his chance to be a little “mushy” and if she would marry him and, somehow, in the midst of some serious ugly crying, Sarah managed to say yes (so grateful he proposed at home!!). Almost immediately thereafter, wedding planning commenced with a date set for August 15 of 2020. Sarah and David can hardly wait to see what comes next! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
