On June 27, 2018, Christine and Drew with Bennett and Maggie in tow, began a trek up Horseshoe Mountain outside of Fairplay, Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. Little did Christine know Drew had a different kind of rock in his pocket. They traveled along an old mining road for 3.5 miles of switchbacks and ruins. After a few breaks along the way, they finally made it to the top of Horseshoe Mountain, 13,905 ft in the air. Taking in the gorgeous scenery, they happily snapped photos of their accomplishment. While Drew had summited two other fourteeners, this was Christine's first mountaintop. Drew suggested Christine sit at the summit cairn with Bennett and take a video. While filming their success, Drew popped the question and Christine happily accepted with tears of joy. After both of these milestones complete, they then had to trek back down the 3.5 miles. It was a much easier trip downhill and with a spring in their step.
