Question

I've never been to a "camp wedding"... What should I wear to the ceremony/reception?

Answer

Outdoor formal, classy and comfy, but most importantly- whatever you are most comfortable wearing! This is TOTALLY up to you! Whenever we explain this people tend to want a more direct answer, so... If Matt and Britt were attending their own wedding as guests Britt would wear a really cute sundress with strappy sandals or wedges, and Matt would wear dress pants, dress shirt, tie, and vest optional with nice shoes.

Question

Will there be coffee or breakfast on Saturday?

Answer

No, we are only providing meals on Friday night at the picnic (6-8pm), Saturday after the ceremony, and Sunday at the brunch (10am-12pm). However, there are many spots in the area that serve coffee and delicious foods! Take a look at the Things Nearby tab for more info! We also suggest packing iced coffee and easy to eat foods in your cooler. If you do this, remember to bring your own plates and cups. Also remember that you are responsible for cleaning up your trash (dumpsters available on site), as well as keeping foods inside of coolers and cars- don't the animals get to it!

Question

I can't wait to stay at camp! What should I pack?

Answer

Well, we are glad you asked! While the cabins are fitted with bunk beds (twin size), electricity, and bathrooms, we do suggest the following: camp chair(s) for outside your cabin and by the fire, bug spray, sunscreen, bedding (sheets, blankets, and pillows), trash bags (dumpsters available on site), a box fan for the cabin if you'd like, HEAD LAMP and/or flashlight, towels and flip flops for the shower. Dinner is provided on Friday night, Saturday night, and brunch on Sunday, so if you know you'll feel peckish we recommend snacks and water/beveages (coolers suggested and ice is not available on site), and cups/plates for your beverages and food. If you bring food you must keep it kept in a cooler- do not leave food outside of your car or cooler! Peep the Things Nearby tab for recommended places to grab some noms!

Question

I'm bringing a cooler, is ice available on site?

Answer

Unfortunately there is no ice available on site, take a look at the Things Nearby tab for information on where you can get some. There are several beer distributors and gas stations in the area. Remember to keep all food inside of a cooler and not left out in the open!

Question

How late can I arrive on Friday?

Answer

You may arrive any time after 6pm on Friday. Please RSVP if you will be attending the Welcome Picnic (6-8pm), if you know you will miss the picnic, but still want to come on Friday night for hangs, that's great! The camp will not "close" and you may arrive at any time after 6pm on Friday.

Question

I'm not staying at camp, but can I still hangout and be pals?

Answer

Yes, please! Even if you are not staying overnight at camp you are welcome to join us all night Friday and Saturday for shenanigans! Please be mindful of shuttle times to and from the Comfort Inn (Saturday only- space is limited), or be prepared with a designated driver (Uber and Lyft are not a thing in this area).

Question

I'm staying at camp, how will I know where to go when I arrive, where should I park?

Answer

When you arrive at camp you will see road signs directing you where to park your car. Cabin assignments will be listed at the center of camp. (DRIVE SLOWLY at the camp and in the nearby area!) Please be sure to park in Group Parking, and not leave your car in any other unmarked area. Cars are especially not allowed to be parked inside of camp for any period of time. You should expect to carry your belongings from your car to your cabin; you cannot drive your car up to your cabin. Don't worry, it's a small camp, everything is easy to find and there will be folks around to help you carry your things!

Question

I'm staying at camp, will I have access to a kitchen or fridge?

Answer

General campers do not have access to a kitchen or fridge. Coolers are suggested, and unfortunately grills are NOT allowed.

Question

What are the bathrooms like at camp?

Answer

As mentioned, each cabin has its own bathroom. This is shared with your cabin mates and is fitted with a sink and toilet only. There are two shower houses on site, and each shower house has at least 4 shower stalls. Picture the kind of showers in your college dorm room, single stalls with privacy curtains, sinks, and mirrors. Shower shoes are recommended. There are bathrooms that can be utilized during the welcome picnic, cocktail hour/reception, and brunch in the Dining Hall and at the Boat House. The most handicap friendly bathroom is located inside of the Dining Hall.

Question

What time is checkout from camp on Sunday?

Answer

The camp has asked us to leave by 12pm sharp. Brunch will be held from 10am - 12pm, and then we are expected to pack up and GTFO.

Question

Can we set off fireworks? Can we swim without a lifeguard on duty?

Answer

NO! The answer to both of those questions is, absolutely No. Per the camp no fireworks are permitted, and swimming is only allowed when there is a lifeguard on duty. We are ultimately responsible for everyone and everything that happens at the camp, so we very much appreciate everyone respecting the camp's rules!

Question

I can't wait to tag us at Camp Oneka on Facebook and Insta!

Answer

No thank you! The camp has a strict rule about not tagging them on social media or online in general. Might we suggest the location as, "somewhere in the woods"? We hope you will use our wedding hashtag, #brattattack2019, but please respect the camp's wishes to not be tagged online. They are first and foremost a summer camp for young children, and we must respect this.

Question

What's the weather gonna be like?

Answer

Who knows! According to the internet, during this time of year the Poconos can experience a high of around 80 degrees, and go as low as the 50s at night. Watch the weather the week leading up to the wedding and pack accordingly!

Question

Can I bring my pet?

Answer

Nope, sorry, no pets allowed!

Question

Is there wifi/cell service?

Answer

No wifi, but you should have service on your cell phone.

Question
