Matron of Honor
I have been extremely lucky to experience so much of my life with Mikaela by my side. Through middle school (blue hair streaks and pop-tarts), high school (prom, band concerts, and a Paul McCartney concert), college (Go Cobbers, Long Live the Yellow Submarine), med school (Mikaela), and grad school (Christina), we have been through it all. Our friendship has stood the test of time. Can't forget the many Starbucks and Target outings to numerous Perkins dates that would also fill up our book of our adventures. Mikaela is one of the most kind, thoughtful, and extremely caring people. I know I will always have Mikaela as my best friend for the rest of my life and I am so incredibly grateful for her.

Caitlyn was the best thing that Devils Lake ever gave me. I know three things will happen when I am with Caitlyn: 1. She will see someone she knows and will go talk to them (it does not matter where we are- Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Fargo, or even Minneapolis) She has such a great personality that attracts people to her. 2. Someone will try to set her up on a date. (We were stopped in Walmart once by a lady who wanted to set up Caitlyn with her neighbor.) Anyone lucky enough to go on a date with Caitlyn will understand how kind, caring, empathetic, and beautiful she is inside and out. 3. We will have the best time possible.

"Do you want a brownie?"- Katie, freshman year of college A beautiful friendship started with that phrase. I think I spent more time in Katie's room freshman and sophomore years of college than in my own room. Luckily, we became housemates for the last two years of college. Along with her skills of baking, providing snacks, lending a listening ear, and always being ready to go on an adventure, Katie is such a welcoming, supportive, and caring individual. I am incredibly grateful that I said yes to getting a brownie from a stranger for it started one of the best friendships.

Maren will never let me forget our first encounter...where I may have said that she scared me. Good thing I got over that. Maren is such an outgoing, vibrant, and encouraging person. No idea is too crazy and everything is possible when you have Maren by your side. She has always pushed me outside of my comfort zone and encouraged me to try new things. It doesn't matter how long it has been, we always fall right back to where we were like no time has passed.

Andrew is such a genuine, empathetic, and thoughtful person. He is so supportive of everyone and anyone. Andrew is a great listener and is one of my favorite people to call and catch up with. Through playing in the Concordia band together in college and our infamous clarinet/ bass clarinet duets, Andrew and I have a strong friendship that is such a bright spot in my life.
Taylor

Taylor is another college roommate who turned into a lifelong friend. Many of Taylor's wonderful qualities that make her a great friend include always providing a funny anecdote to lighten the mood, reminding me to look on the brighter side of life, and helping ground me in the present. Charles and I always look forward to our annual "Weekend in the Woods" summer trip with Taylor and Jake. (It sometimes includes woods but most times should be labeled as "glamping" because I like modern plumbing...) Taylor and I lucked out with the fact that Jake and Charles became instant friends and they join in on our crazy ideas.
