The beating heart of the city, the Zócalo is the central plaza of what was once México-Tenochtitlán and remains the center of political and cultural life in the country. Here one can view the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral, Museo del Templo Mayor, and the many walkable streets in the area.
We went here on our first date. Home to many of the great works of Mexican muralism and host to international art exhibitions, the Palacio de Bellas Artes is a stunning building.
