It’s better than a rom com. Almost 6 years ago, Brannon and I met at Heritage High School. When this guy on the drumline/soccer team reached out to me, I didn’t know what to think. A friend of a friend sent him my way, and let me be the first to tell you, I was intrigued. A multi-talented man wanted to get to know me. Well, as much as I hated going to my sister’s soccer games, for some reason, I really liked Brannon’s games. Then…right as things were kicking off, the world shut down. But our love couldn’t be stopped. That’s right. He only lived two houses away, so we would spend hours walking around the neighborhood, chatting, getting to know each other–I had never laughed so much. This was our routine, the beginning of the invisible string that tied us together. Unfortunately, due to some highschool shenanigans and really ghastly behavior, we took a break. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, he couldn’t stop thinking about me. Months later, who should show up in my life, but my highschool crush, Mr. Brannon Beeson. Turns out, he was headed to Basic Training; this didn’t matter much to us, we picked up right where we had left it. Letters and phone calls and long distance, it was tough, but we were there for each other. Hard to believe, but even after all that communication, we were still young and didn’t quite understand the intricacies of communication in a relationship. Which led to……another break up–I told you this story is better than a rom com. Despite my initial thoughts, “this is what’s best for me, I’m doing the right thing.” It felt so wrong. Thank goodness the LORD was watching out for us, because who would be at the guard shack the day I needed to get on base…the love of my life. Well that moment kicked off the best part of the story, the rest of our lives together. We finally acted in faith instead of fear, and have fallen so deeply in love. The Lord has been with us through every step, every hill and valley. We are looking forward to the rest of our story as we continue to seek him first and love each other through this life. -The Future Beesons
