Getting Around New Orleans

Rideshare & Taxis Uber and Lyft are widely available throughout the city. Taxis can be hailed on major streets or arranged through hotel concierge. Streetcar Iconic and budget-friendly, the streetcars run along several routes, including St. Charles Avenue (great for Garden District and The Columns Hotel) and Canal Street (for access to parts of downtown and Mid-City). A one-way ride costs $1.25 (exact change needed) or you can purchase a Jazzy Pass for unlimited rides. Walking The French Quarter is compact and very walkable, with plenty to see en route. Rental Cars Generally not necessary unless you plan day-trips outside the city; parking in the French Quarter can be limited or expensive. Hotel Shuttles Some hotels offer shuttle services to key attractions. Inquire with your hotel if this might be available.
