Brian and I knew of each other since high school. I was a freshman and he was a senior. When I first noticed Brian, it’s like everything around him stopped and he was moving in slow motion. At that time, we both were dating someone so we never got a chance to get to know each other. Until years later..... Brian sent me a friend request on Facebook and that’s when it all began. One night one of my best friends, JoAnne Malbrough, shared a meme as her post that said, “Lord, I know these ain’t the only men you got! It gotta be some more in the back!” (See meme pictured below). I thought it was so funny that I decided to reshare it on my Facebook post and when I did, Brian saw it. He says that’s what gave him confidence to reach out to me; from the post, he knew I was still single and dating. He direct message me to ask, “Is it really that bad?” Although I could definitely relate to the post due to failed dates prior to, but he didn’t know I was just sharing it for laughs. It was a great catch line and I went along with it. I responded back to him, “It was a joke but in reality it is really hard to find someone you’re compatible with.” From then on we didn’t stop conversing. Brian’s conversation was so intriguing, but I was guarded. He continued to pursue me anyway. After 3 months of conversing via messenger, I finally gave in. We exchanged numbers and then went on our first date. We later learned that we lived 4 minutes away from each other and majority of our family members all grew up together in the same city of Lawtell, La. From then on, we were inseparable! Also knowing our family were already connected made us coming together so much easier. On December 25, 2021 Christmas Day, Brian asked me to marry him and the rest is history! Oh, and thank You Lord, for going to the back to bring Brian forward to me! :)
