Our Story

7.6.12

We met after some mutual friends decided to set us up on a blind date. Old fashioned, we know. We showed up to Eastlake Bar and Grill as a group (Scott, Dana, and the two couples who set us up) for happy hour. It was a sunny evening in July and we sat out on the deck. Fast forward 9+ years, and here we are! We live in West Seattle, in our house we moved into in 2015. We have a giant rambunctious dog named Atlas, and more board games than any one family should own. We love watching movies (preferably on VHS), trying the Crème Brûlée at every restaurant it’s offered, playing a good game, and having dinner parties with friends. We are so excited you are here to help celebrate our wedding!!

The Engagement

3.22.19

Scott had wanted to walk through the Japanese Gardens at UW Arboretum but they weren’t open for the season yet. So instead we just started walking around the arboretum. At this point I (Dana) said jokingly, “you’re totally gonna propose to me aren’t you!?”. I was completely joking since I KNEW that we weren’t going to get engaged for probably another 6 months to a year. Scott started laughing and said “yeah, right” or something like that. [ Scott here- at this point I’m freaking out. Did she find out? How could she know? I then began lying as well as I could to try to throw her off the trail. “We haven’t even talked about rings or anything” “I don’t really know how’d I want to propose” “I haven’t really thought about it”. It worked because we just started talking about other things and kept walking through the gardens]. We found a little pond with a duck family with little ducklings. We stood there looking at the ducks, and Scott tapped me to turn around. When I did, he was standing there with a ring! My first words were “YOU LIAR!!!” Then I began to word vomit about how did he hide the ring in his shorts, and was it there the whole time, and how did you keep me from knowing when I was joking earlier, etc etc, followed by lots of laughing. Then followed by “wait, you didn’t even ask me anything!” It was perfect. :-)

For all the days along the way
